The LFPT brings together county agents and campus specialists to create training and resources to build capacity for supporting local food systems in Extension across the state. The workgroups meet throughout the year individually and the next full group gathering will be in October. To join the Local Food Program Team contact Hannah Dankbar at hcdankba@ncsu.edu

“After over two years of meeting virtually through Zoom, the LFPT was finally able to get together. It was great to see everyone in person and hear all about the work the individual workgroups have done and are currently doing. I really enjoyed taking the team to Millstone Creek Orchards and introducing them to Beverly and her amazing apple cider slushies! I think the day was just what we needed to get everyone back on track and thinking about the goals and future plans of our local food work groups. I don’t think we would have had the same experience and conversations working on our strategic plan if we had met virtually.” – Allison Walker, Extension Agent, 4-H Youth Development, Randolph County & Local Food Program Team Co-Chair

“It was exciting to see how the Local Food Program Team has grown, with so many participants new to the team who are enthusiastic about collaborating on local foods across program areas and expertise.” – Robyn Stout, NC 10% Campaign State Program Coordinator
